Penguins in Portland!

Today was another very busy day, with more animals! One of the booths (Myricom) is promoting it's support for Linux, so of course they have a picture of Tux--but I've never seen a red penguin before.

There's a lot of people here setting up, including worker helping with building displays. One man was driving around on a lift, adjusting lights. He needed the lift because the ceiling is so high!

When I went to lunch, I took the time to register, and get my badge. The conference doesn't officially start until Monday, so the line wasn't very bad.

As I was told before I came, they gave me a lot of free stuff, including a bag, a thumb drive, several magazines, and a water bottle.

Some of the folks helping with building enclosures for the booths came to ours, and put up our walls. This finally gave me a chance to get my computers in place. Now I'll be able to work on them without needing to disconnect them or move the cables.

End of the day

I've finally met several of the people I've been working with over the last few months. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with some of them and Tom Hutton. I wish I had more time to write, but our dinner reservation is 15 minutes away, and I still need to cross a river!
