Long, Hard, Successful Day

This morning started off with a walk through a list mist to find breakfast. It's Sunday, so the streets were fairly empty. I had another light breakfast at the Bijou Cafe. I wanted to try a place called Mother's, but it wasn't open, yet, and I wanted to get to the conference center early.
When I got back to the booth, I was having some trouble with the network connections. I was a little hasty when rebooting the render nodes, and that made several of them re-install. After I got them running again, I spent the next couple of hours diagnosing a bad video card, and installing a spare Joe Keefe from CalIT2 brought. I'm really grateful for his help over the last couple of weeks.
Once the nodes were up and running, I passed off control of them to Eric, a developer at Argonne, and went to lunch. While walking through the exhibit floor, I saw the NASA booth. They had some very cool displays up, and I can't wait to see what cool toys I might be able to bring home for my son.
During the afternoon, Eric drove the displays from Argonne while Joe and Venka from ANL provided feedback.
With their help, we streamed video from the renderer in Argonne to the booth. After a bit of playback, the picture smoothed out. By the end of the afternoon, we were very happy with what we did.
I'm headed out now with Joe and Venka,. I can't wait to see what we can do tomorrow!
